There are a lot of options to go to Nami Island, Petite France and Garden of the Morning Calm. From Seoul, you can rent a car or avail of the tourist bus which are two of the most convenient ways to get there but can also be costly. You can also commute via ITX or metro subway. I usually use the metro subway which only cost ₩4,500 round trip from Myeongdong (where I usually stay) to Gapyeong Station. From Gapyeong Station, you can either hire a taxi to take you there or avail of the Gapyeong City Tour bus for ₩6,000). I have always looked forward to travelling out of the country whenever it is possible and as of the moment, South Korea has been my most frequented travel destination for the past two years because I just love this country so much!
Whenever I travel, I make it a point to try new things so during my fourth visit to Seoul last November 2016, my friend and stayed at Hotel Maui which is one subway station away from Dongdaemun. Continue reading “Hotel Maui in Seoul”
I always wanted my trips to be organized but sometimes I have to let nature take its course and just enjoy the moment and veer away from the norm. This is my second time to go on a trip without making any prior reservation for accommodation. Our Busan trip was a spur-of-the moment decision so it was a good thing that I have read about Haeundae Guesthouse while preparing for our trip last year. I have been to South Korea three times since 2015 and every trip is memorable because I have always had new experiences each time. Seoul will always be my happy place so wherever I go, whoever I’m with and whatever I do, I will always be happy just by being there but if I were to choose only one, my happiest memory in Seoul so far was the time I spent with CNBLUE where my friends and I have experienced our best fangirling moments for almost 24 hours with our favorite Korean band! There are other options to travel from Seoul to Busan. While KTX remains the first option that I have often read in other blogs, traveling by bus is cheaper and convenient as well. Continue reading “How to Travel from Seoul to Busan by Bus”
On my first trip to Seoul, I booked my accommodation at Zaza Backpackers. I have a friend who is a loyal client of them. She gave positive feedback about them and she always stay here whenever she goes to Seoul. Since I am a solo traveler on a budget, her feedback made me feel at ease even if it was also my first time to stay in a dorm room. Continue reading “Zaza Backpackers Hostel in Seoul”
It was not planned nor expected. It just happened. It was like a dream. It was meant to be…
That was how my friends and I felt when our travel dates coincided with CNBLUE‘s comeback schedule with their 6th mini album Blueming. CNBLUE had been to Manila for Blue Moon World Tour and Can’t Stop World Tour but Philippines was not included in their Come Together concert tour last year. There were a lot of things that happened which almost got our trip cancelled due to personal reasons but it turned out to be one of the best trip we all had because we were able to watch our favorite band perform live! Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! What are your plans for today? If you are in Seoul right now or is planning to visit Seoul soon, you may want to try Miss Lee Cafe (별다방미스리).
I am a big fan of CNBLUE, most specifically their leader, Yong Hwa. During my first trip to Seoul, I went to Bukchon Hanok Village and visited the traditional Korean house where Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong Hwa lived in the Korean TV drama Heartstrings. On my second trip to Seoul, my friends and I had a late dinner at Miss Lee Cafe in Insadong where Yong Hwa and Seo Hyun of Girls Generation went for a date during their virtual marriage for MBC’s We Got Married. For my first trip in Korea last April 2015, I originally booked for one bed in a dormitory room at Zaza Backpackers Hostel one month before my trip through their website and I received a confirmation the following day. To secure my reservation, I was asked to email them twice, 15 days before and 5 days before my check-in date. Upon my arrival, I was informed that I will be staying at Myeongdong Global Hostel which is just one corner apart from Zaza Backpackers. Continue reading “Myeongdong Global Hostel in Seoul”
Visiting Nami Island in each different season has been one of my goals when I travel to Korea. The first time I went here was last spring in April 2015. I was alone and it was quite late when I arrived but I was still able to appreciate the beauty of this island and I gained two beautiful friends on my way back to Seoul. This time along with my friends from college, I was able to witness her beauty during autumn. Nami Island is indeed lovelier during this season with yellow, orange and red hues dominating what was once a lush green flora. For details about other facilities featured in this half moon-shaped island, I will refer you to my first post about Nami Island. Continue reading “Autumn in Nami Island”
