There are a lot of options to go to Nami Island, Petite France and Garden of the Morning Calm. From Seoul, you can rent a car or avail of the tourist bus which are two of the most convenient ways to get there but can also be costly. You can also commute via ITX or metro subway. I usually use the metro subway which only cost ₩4,500 round trip from Myeongdong (where I usually stay) to Gapyeong Station. From Gapyeong Station, you can either hire a taxi to take you there or avail of the Gapyeong City Tour bus for ₩6,000). I started travelling overseas during my late 20s. Whenever I set foot in a foreign land and experience wonderful things, I would always think of my family back home and how it would be nice to travel with them. I can picture how my parents would love Korean and Vietnamese food, how my mother would enjoy shopping in Bangkok, how excited my father would be when he tries his luck in a casino in Macau or how my brother and his family would have enjoyed Disneyland in Hong Kong or Universal Studios in Singapore. It has always been my dream to travel with my parents and fortunately I was able to make it come true this year! Continue reading “Singapore Family Trip: Budget & Travel Guide for 3 Days & 3 Nights”
The 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III ‘The Wings Tour’ successfully ended the two-day concert this weekend here in Manila, Philippines. The buzz still has yet to subside from this highly anticipated concert. It has been a few days already but I still watch my fan videos over and over again and been listening to my Wings Tour playlist the whole day continuously! Aside from K-Pop, K-Dramas, K-Food, K-fashion, K-beauty which includes cosmetic surgery, Korea is also known as a country rich in history, culture and tradition. Korea has embraced modernity yet its identity remained intact. Have you noticed the stark contrast of the palaces, hanok villages and mountains compared to the high rise buildings in Seoul? Same is true with Koreans’ approach to health and wellness. While they have one of the best yet affordable medical technology, traditional oriental medicine is still widely practiced through the use of natural treatment methods. Majority of the Filipinos are Catholics and one of the most important religious season for us is Lent. From what I can recall since I have been living in the same neighborhood throughout my life, we observe Holy Week by having Pasyon (melodic narration of Biblical stories of the life of Christ), Senakulo (theatrical interpretation of Biblical scenes), Visita Iglesia (praying of the Stations of the Cross in about seven churches) and Processions.
For most of us who love almost everything about Korea, the extent of influence it has on us extended way beyond Korean food, language, culture, television dramas and K-Pop…it has delved deeper within us to the point that it has also become a part of our daily lives. Together with their citizens, we also hope for a peaceful reunification of North Korea and South Korea…for a One Korea.
I have always looked forward to travelling out of the country whenever it is possible and as of the moment, South Korea has been my most frequented travel destination for the past two years because I just love this country so much!
Whenever I travel, I make it a point to try new things so during my fourth visit to Seoul last November 2016, my friend and stayed at Hotel Maui which is one subway station away from Dongdaemun. Continue reading “Hotel Maui in Seoul”
Philippine K-Pop Convention is one of the biggest event of the year for Filipino K-Pop fans. I had a great time when I first attended this event three years ago where Lunafly, LC9, A.cian and Boyfriend were the main guests. I enjoyed fangirling over Lunafly and since then, their songs and cover songs have been a part of my mp3 playlist. It was also fun to check out the booths of each local fan clubs where they sell various merchandises and albums. I skipped joining this event for two years because I felt too old already haha! However, when we were tasked to cover this event as global correspondents for KPopChannel.TV I was able to find an excuse to attend this event again!
I always wanted my trips to be organized but sometimes I have to let nature take its course and just enjoy the moment and veer away from the norm. This is my second time to go on a trip without making any prior reservation for accommodation. Our Busan trip was a spur-of-the moment decision so it was a good thing that I have read about Haeundae Guesthouse while preparing for our trip last year.
