Directions to Korean Entertainment Agencies: Cube, JYP, FNC and SM

I only had five days for my first trip to South Korea. Part of my itinerary was to visit the famous tourist spots such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, N Seoul Tower, Nami Island and Petite France. Since I am a K-Pop fan, I managed to squeeze in one day to visit the K-Pop entertainment agencies and K-Pop-owned restaurants .

I started my K-Pop tour in Apgujeong and Cheongdam-dong in Gangnam. I used the Korean Entertainment Agencies Tour Route from Visit Korea as a reference.  I altered the sequence (blue line) to Cube (former office building), JYP, FNC and SM since I did not visit Grill Taco and I do not want to take a bus. This map is very reliable because I was able to find the above agencies without getting lost (I did not rent a mobile wifi to cut down my travel expenses so I do not have GPS or access to google maps).

I used this map as a reference but I altered the sequence to: Cube, JYP, FNC and SM.

I was not able to see any K-Pop artist during this time but I was fulfilled just seeing the entertainment agencies of my favorite K-Pop artists (BtoB of Cube; 2AM, 2PM and GOT7 of JYP; CNBLUE of FNC; Super Junior of SM). Hope this guide will help you find what you are looking for. Feel free to leave a comment for suggestions or corrections.

I posted a separate guide on how to go to YG Entertainment since it is located in a different area. Happy fangirling! ^_^

    1. Hi Suliani, thanks for dropping by! It was whole day tour for me. I allotted 2-3 hours to tour K-Star Road, Cube, JYP, FNC and SM. After that, I went to CNBLUE Jong Hyun’s Sulbing Cafe, YG Entertainment and my last stop was at Hwang’s Eel Restaurant owned by the father of Min Hyuk (CNBLUE). Your tour will depend if you would want to stay longer and wait to get a chance to see your favorite K-pop artists. Hope this info helps. I have plans to go back to Korea this April, I hope you will enjoy your tour this May. :-)

You may also refer to my previous posts for more information. :-)

    1. Hi Bryantan, thanks for visiting my blog! :-) FNC do not have a physical store for their merchandise in their entertainment agency in Cheongdamdong. You may want to check out their online store http://fncstore.com/. I bought my CNBLUE CDs in Myeongdong subway underground shopping center because I usually stay in that area whenever I visit Seoul. Hope the above info helps :-)

      2. Hello Hanalee! I’m glad you find the info here helpful. It motivates me to continue doing this kind of stuff :-)

Myeongdong is a major tourist area in Seoul and is more known as a shopping destination especially for cosmetics. There is an underground market near the subway station where I bought an album of my favorite Korean band. It is definitely more affordable if you buy an album in Seoul compared to buying it online or in your home country. The prices vary depending on the artists and what kind of album you are looking for.

    1. Hi Uniceli! I have not tried it yet but when I was waiting outside SM Entertainment agency, I saw a delivery of flower pot for Super Junior Eun Hyuk’s birthday, so I think it is possible. Just ask the security personnel where you can drop your gift :-)

    1. Hello Jen! Thanks for visiting my blog. I google translate your comment so I can understand it :-) I am glad you find my blog helpful. If you are going to visit Nami Island, you may also want to go to Petite France and Garden of the Morning Calm. They have a tour bus which can take you to those places at only W6,000. If you are a fan of CNBLUE like me, you may want to check out my post about Fangirling over CNBLUE and eat at Min Hyuk’s family restaurant (Hwang Eel Restaurant) and Jong Hyun’s Dessert Cafe. You might also want to attend the Kimchi Festival and Seoul Lantern Festival too. I attended both last year and it was so much fun. I still have upcoming post about my trip in Seoul and Busan that can help you on your trip to Korea in November. :-)

Here is the link on how to go to Jong Hyun’s Sulbing Cafe: http://tinyurl.com/zclrpkx

If you plan to go to Busan, check out the places I visited last year: Haeundae Beach, Gwangali Beach, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple and Gamcheon Cultural Village.

I have never been to Jeju Island, so you may want to check out their official website: https://www.ijto.or.kr/english/

As far as concert tickets to CNBLUE’s Osaka concert, I do not have access on how to buy the tickets because I have never tried it yet…sorry…

Regarding currency exchange rate when you go to Korea, you can bring dollars and have it changed to Won when you arrived at your hotel. There are a lot of currency exchange shops especially near the tourist spots. I suggest you have smaller dollar bills. Exchange only what you needed to pay for your subway fare or bus fare from airport to your hostel. Then exchange the rest of your dollars near your hotel so you can look for better deals.

Hope I was able to answer some of your questions. Have a safe trip to Korea! I will be there on November 21 to 28 and I am also excited as you are! :)

  4. Hello Dear, thanks for your article. I think it will be help me, since I’ll go to there alone. Hehehe… But, I need to ask about K-Star Road and the place of JYP, SM, FNC. So much article wrote, to visit JYP, SM, FNC, Cube building, we need exit at EXIT 3 Gate from Apgujeong Rodeo Station and take a bus to arrive at that place, but from your article we can use EXIT 2 Gate who related with K-Star Road and just walk along. What do you think? Because I’m really wanna go to K-Star Road before visit JYP, SM, FNC, Cube, etc. Is EXIT 2 really related the distance? Hopefully, you can answer my questions. Thank you.

    1. Hi detii0730! Yes, you can use exit 2 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station and walk for about 20 minutes to reach Old CUBE building, Cube Cafe, JYP, FNC and SM. Upon exiting, just look ahead and you will see the Gangnamdols then follow the rest of the instructions on my blog. You may use the map as a reference. My friends and I went back there last April (1 year after I wrote this post) and followed the same instructions I had written here. The recent changes are the following: More Gangnamdols had been added and the Cube office had been relocated to another building. I hope I was able to answer your question. If you have more questions, please let me know and I will try to help you with the directions :-)

The Gangnamdolls are cute and if you are into shopping, you might find the stores lined up along the roads interesting. Hope you will have a great time in Seoul! :-)

    1. Hello Allen! Thanks for visiting my blog! If you are planning to visit the Korean entertainment agencies like I did, I suggest you try out the route that I had taken (Apgujeong Rodeo Station – Bundang Line). I have not tried taking the Apgujeong Station Line 3 going there so I am not sure if these two subway stations are close to each other.

  6. Hi Lei T. Oops! I think I sent the message to a wrong person earlier. Very Sorry!!! I am coming to Seoul in a few weeks and was planning to visit Super Junior Eunhyuk family’s shop Chocolat Bonbon. However, a friend of mine just came back from Seoul and she said the shop is no longer there. In its place is another shop named Coffee Bay. She is absolutely sure it was the correct location but Chocolat Bonbon was not there. I searched around and found nothing about Chocolat Bonbon closing or moving to another location. However, I’ve found from the visitseoul.net site, it said that both Chocolat Bonbon and Super Junior Donghae’s Grill5Taco are closed. Is that true? Do you happen to know anything about this?
    http://english.visitseoul.net/tours/Seoul-Tour-For-Super-Juniors-love-ELF_/15260
I was not planning to go to Grill5Taco but was really looking forward to Chocolat Bonbon. If they have moved, would you be able to find out some information for me? There’s nothing I can find on the English search sites. Maybe you’ll be able to find something through the Korean sites. Thanks a million!

    1. Hi Dianne! I have no idea if they closed down Super Junior Eunhyuk’s Chocolat Bonbon and Donghae’s Grill5Taco. Last April 2015, my friend was able to dine in at Grill5Taco. My next trip to Korea will be in late November, I would like to help you out and check these out myself but it seems your trip will be earlier than mine. I suggest you leave a message to visitseoul.net or their facebook page to get a more accurate information about this. Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you will have an enjoyable trip to Seoul. :-)

      1. Hello again Dianne, I just confirmed the information with my friend and she said both establishments have already closed down. However, I just recently saw Super Junior Henry’s instagram update. He visited the cafe of Donghae’s mother and you might be interested in visiting Haru & One Day Cafe at Seongdong-gu Achasan-ro 92. Based on the map from Naver, it is near Seongsu station Line 2 Exit 4. Hope this would suffice your fangirl heart :-)
